Whilst in Potsdam we went to visit Beelitz-Heilstätten hospital complex. Lena works in one of the few functioning units at the complex, whereas the majority of the 60 buildings on site have been left to decay in the forest and be taken over by nature. The hospital was originally used to treat TB patients who couldn’t get treatment elsewhere, and was used as a military hospital in WWI where a young Hitler was treated. The spooky buildings still have hospital beds and operating implements left abandoned inside, and the area has been used in many horror movies. Not somewhere to wild camp!
Hear hear!!!
