Heading south from Addis our first main stop off was lake Awassa. We had no expectations other than we knew we needed somewhere to rest. What a treat awaited for us! Right next to our budget Rasta hotel was a small jetty offering rides out on the lake to see the hippos. We had a fantastic time watching these ginormous and intimidating creatures.
