Before starting the trip we’d dreamt about long days cycling through the wilderness of the desert and having an epiphany about what we wanted to do with our lives. Instead we’ve spent most of the time thinking about what we might have for our next meal, when in actual fact we know exactly what we will be eating, as it will be the same as yesterday and the day before. A lunchtime stop at a roadside cafeteria will present us with two options; 1. Ful (stewed fava beans) 2. Eggs (a two-egg deep-fried omelette); if we are being luxurious we will order both. No filter can make this brown mush look tasty, but after a long morning on the bike it is perfect!
