What a welcome to Africa. With mixed expectations for Cairo, we have been pleasantly surprised. Exploring the mummies in the Cairo museum, and wandering around the pyramids at Giza as the sun went down and tourists disappeared, did not leave us disappointed. Our experience of the city certainly wouldn’t have been the same without the opportunity to stay with our awesome Warmshower hosts Alex, Chloe and Sina 🐈 – they let us use their home as our own, shared every evening together, and even took us out on a felucca boat at night on the Nile. Sina however was probably glad to have her territory back!
