Bellever, Dartmoor

With Dartmoor being the only place in England where you can legally wild camp, it seemed a must before our big trip!

We found a perfect pitch at Bellever, next to the bubbling River Dart, with woolly sheep and tiny ponies as our only neighbours for the night. We were conveniently situated 1 mile from the Warren House pub where we managed to arrive in time to watch the Grand National and have a pint before settling down for the evening.

We left feeling satisfied that we can keep ourselves fed on our MSR Whisperlite, carry our kit up some very steep hills, and not get creeped out by footsteps (or hooves) around the tent at night.
